The 21-year-old Erling Haaland, soon the new striker of Manchester City, is also in shape with his national team Norway. In the Nations League game against Sweden, the Norwegian single-handedly secured a 1-2 win thanks to two goals on Sunday evening, although he said he could just as well have received a death kick.

Swedish defender Alexander Milosevic of AIK Solna is said to have threatened Haaland during the match. “He told me I was a whore at first, but I can safely tell you that I am not,” said a broad-smiling Haaland after the match. “Afterwards he also said that he would break my legs. But a minute and a half later I scored, so that was fine.”

Milosevic denied calling such things to Haaland after the game. “I don’t waste my time on such things on the pitch, I don’t care. I never speak English on the pitch, so it’s special to hear that I would have said such things,” said the defender.

Word against word, in other words, even though Haaland already pulled the longest in the sporting field on Sunday evening. On June 12, both men will face each other again in the Nations League: that’s promising!
