In 2018, children and young people from VfR Garching, ESV München Ost, SV Anzing and Budo-Club Ismaning were guests in Evian on Lake Geneva. Now, after long preparations, the French judoka came back for a 5-day visit over the Ascension Day. 30 children and young people from “CLAM Evian” came together with their trainers and carers.
The clubs involved organized a day of judo training and joint activities for the guests.
The start of the holiday is made by VfR Garching. We started in the morning with a visit to the planetarium in the ESO Supernova. Afterwards, the multiple Paralympic participant Christian Zeilermeier (5th Dan) gave a training session in front of 70 judoka in the Business Campus Sportpark. At lunchtime, the hungry participants were well taken care of in the club restaurant da’Umberto.
In the afternoon, German/French language animation with Lola Chereau was on the program. Another sweaty training session followed, this time with Christophe Chereau (4th Dan) from Evian.
In the evening we grilled burgers together and let the day end.
On Friday, SV Anzing welcomed the guests to training in Anzing. The active top athletes and Olympic participants Amelie and Theresa Stoll presented their special techniques during the training. A total of 70 judoka trained under the guidance of the two professionals. We were particularly pleased about the contact at eye level and personal improvement tips from the two top athletes. In the joint Randori, the participants could test their judo in practice.
In the evening we went to ESV Munich East. Here the judoka made sushi themselves, while the trainers let the evening end with cozy discussions about various judo techniques.
ESV Munich East organized the last day of training. Two intensive training sessions with Christophe Chereau and Hannes Schleibinger built on the previous days. In the late afternoon we went to the Maxxarena trampoline park.
For the children and young people it was a great opportunity to make new contacts with the French, to overcome language barriers and, most importantly, to have fun together.
This year’s encounter was worked out by the brothers Christophe (Clam/Evian) and Sebastien (Sv Anzing/ESV München Ost) Chereau. The encounter is sponsored by the Franco-German Youth Office (DFJW / OFAJ).
