The France Nature Championships were held this weekend in Eure-et-Loir (28). The competition benefited for the occasion from two sites: one for the team events which took place on June 17 in Bonneval, another for the individual in Dampierre-sous-Brou on June 18 and 19. Nature archery is shooting at paper targets representing animals. The targets are arranged on hilly courses surrounded by nature. The archers discover the targets and the distances when arriving at the shooting range. The distance can vary from 5 to 4 meters depending on the bow category. On Friday, 17 women’s teams and 42 men’s teams competed all day on the course set up by the local club. Gramat’s team, with Danièle Ramos in the role of captain, consisted of Didier Armada, bare compound bow, Jean-Marc Chieze, longbow, and Vincent Huc, barebow. She ranks 10th. The next two days everyone took part in individual events. At the end of a weekend marked by high temperatures on Saturday and stormy weather on Sunday, 539 competitors competed in Dampierre-sous-Brou for one of the 46 titles of French champions at stake. Two Gramatois archers particularly distinguished themselves by ranking first in their category. They became French champions, Danièle Ramos in longbow, and Didier Armada in naked compound bow. Two other Gramatois finished in the places of honor, Vincent Huc is 5th and Jean-Marc Chièze is 6th. Congratulations to the club for these good results.
