Here’s how the Memphis Grizzles’ recent picks in the NBA went

Grit and grind are still at the forefront Memphis Grizzly‘Basketball style, their future is bright.

Your young team has exemplified this in recent years and has taught a lesson to many doubters. On June 23, the likelihood that the Grizzlies continue to prove league experience isn’t always a necessity will continue with their new draft picks.

In the 2022 NBA Draft, the Memphis selection will consist of the 22nd, 29th and 47th picks. It’s safe to say that the Grizzlies still have some work to do. If guard Ja Morant hadn’t suffered a bruise on his right knee, rising stars might have had a deeper run in the playoffs.

Here are the Grizzlies’ latest picks in the first round and how they fared in the NBA.

2010: Saverio Heinrich

Designed: No. 12 ever

Stats with Grizzly: 38 partite, 4,3 ppg, 0,5 apg

Career stats: 185 partite, 5,7 ppg, 0,6 apg

The hum: With three seasons short of college eligibility, Henry decided to enter the 2010 draft. He was sold to the New Orleans Pelicans as part of a three-team swap. In 2013, Henry started playing for the Los Angeles Lakers and scored 22 points on his debut. Henry had to have wrist and knee surgery. He signed with Golden State but was revoked four days later. This resulted in Henry playing for more teams in the NBA G League and ending his career with Oklahoma City Blue.

2010: Domenico Jones

Designed: No. 25 in total

Stats with Grizzly: 0 games, 0 ppg, 0 apg

Career stats: 80 games, 3.1 points per game, 1.8 points av

The hum: Jones did not get a chance to play for the Grizzlies as he was immediately traded to the Dallas Mavericks. Dallas won the 2011 NBA Finals but Jones had to watch from the sidelines with a foot injury. He has spent time in the NBA G League through Texas Legends and Springfield Armor. Jones later took the plunge to play overseas.

2010: Greivis Vasquez

Designed: 28 in total

Stats with Grizzly: 70 partite, 3,6 ppg, 2,2 apg

Career stats: 401 games, 9 pages, 4.8 Acts

The hum: Vásquez helped the Grizzlies win their first post-season game in franchise history. He played in every Grizzlies game during the 2011 NBA playoffs and helped them advance to the second round where they lost to Oklahoma City. After spending time with several NBA teams, Vásquez coached the Birmingham Squadron.

2012: Written to Tony

Designed: No. 25 in total

Stats with Grizzly: 35 games, 2.6 ppg, 1.2 ppg

Career stats: 145 partite, 11.1 ppg, 3 apg

The hum: Wroten’s career in the NBA started slowly but gained momentum after joining the Philadelphia 76ers. In his first 76er start, he scored his first triple double with 18 points, 11 assists and 10 rebounds. He joined the Grizzles in 2016 but was fired three more times. He now plays for Iraqlis Thessaloniki.

2014: Giordano Adams

Designed: No. 22 in total

Stats with the Grizzlies: 32 partite, 3,2 ppg, 0,6 apg

Career stats: 32 partite, 3,2 ppg, 0,6 apg

The hum: While he was with the Grizzlies, Adams spent most of his games with Iowa Energy. An occasional right knee injury ended his NBA career and he is now Argentina’s top scorer with Club Comunicaciones.

2015: Jarell Martin

Designed: No. 25 in total

Stats with the Grizzlies: 142 partite, 6,2 ppg, 0,7 apg

Career stats: 184 partite, 5,4 ppg, 0,6 apg

The hum: Martin’s tenure was a story of foot injuries. It started with missing the Summer League due to a stress fracture in the foot and subsequently a broken left foot. Once healthy, Martin was given several extra minutes because the Grizzlies were full of injuries. His NBA career also played with the Magic, Cavaliers, Iowa Energy, and Rio Grande Valley Vipers. Martin now plays for the Sydney Kings in the Australian National Basketball League.

2016: Wade Baldwin

Designed: No. 17 ever

Stats with the Grizzlies: 33 partite, 3,2 ppg, 1,8 apg

Career stats: 56 partite, 3.1 ppg, 1.4 apg

The hum: In Baldwin’s NBA debut against the Minnesota Timberwolves, he had seven points, five rebounds and six assists. He also spent time at Iowa Energy and later signed a two-way deal with the Portland Trail Blazers and the Texas Legends. This deal became a regular contract with Portland. Baldwin was traded to multiple teams in February 2019 and spent the rest of his career playing overseas.

2018: Jackson Jr.

Designed: No. 4 ever

Stats with the Grizzlies: 204 matches, 15.8 ppg, 1.2 pp

Career stats: 204 matches, 15.8 ppg, 1.2 pp

The hum: Jackson suffered a deep right thigh bruise in March 2019 and returned the following season when he posted a record 43 points. In August 2020, he tore his left knee meniscus and returned last season to rack up 177 blocks and be named to the NBA’s first defensive team.

2019: And Morante

Designed: # 2 ever

The hum: Morant became the face of Memphis basketball. The 2019-2020 season began with the signing of a $ 39.6 million four-year contract and ended with Morant being named NBA Rookie of the Year. In 2021, Morant led the Grizzlies to their first playoff appearance in four seasons, scoring 47 points against the Utah Jazz. In 2022, Morant earned a spot in the All-Star Game and later led the Grizzlies to the second round of the playoffs.

2021: Trey Murphy III

Designed: No. 17 ever

The hum: Murphy III was sold to the Pelicans before he could disguise himself for the Grizzlies. He signed a two-way deal with Pelican’s NBA G League affiliate Birmingham Squadron in January 2022. He scored 14 points in the second half against the LA Clippers in a play-in win that sent the Pelicans to the playoffs .
