Sunday, June 5 at the National Institute of Judo in Paris, took place the championship of France 3rd senior division. The Villeneuvois Jean Delonca was in the running in less than 90 kg, a very dense category.
A first round to free yourself slowly. A second round mastered tactically. He climbed into the quarter-finals where he met a very experienced opponent but he sent to qualify for the semi-finals. Unfortunately, he was surprised by his opponent’s reach. He was still in the fight for 3rd place. Winner, Jean Delonca won the bronze medal and climbed on this national podium.
Injured in the neck, long unable to train, he resumed training only recently in a very light way. This did not prevent him from going for this medal. Trained at the Rodez club with Fabien Noël, he went to Paris to train as a judo teacher. He lavishes his “judo” now within the Villeneuve-lès-Béziers club. Passionate about the discipline, he works hard on the tatami, always looking for improvement and transmission. A great pride for the club to have a member like him.
Le Saturday June 25, he will take part in the graduation ceremony and the end-of-year meal on Place Michel-Solans.
