The “Judo School” project of the Fijlkam Italian Federation of Judo Fight Karate Martial Arts, in collaboration with the Umbria Regional Committee and its president, Professor Andrea Arena, at the elementary school complexes ended with great success of participation and enthusiasm. and secondary schools in Orvieto. Dissemination and promotion, among children and young people, of a discipline, an Olympic sport, judo, named World Heritage Site by Unesco and the best educational method by the International Olympic Committee and recommended by pediatricians and child psychotherapists.
Judo after at least three decades returns to Orvieto with the Asd Judo Yawara Orvieto, called Judo Yawara Kumiai, represented by the president and federal technician, Gianfranco Greco. The Judo Yawara Kumiai represents in Umbria the Judo Kumiai of Druento (To) of the Head Coach of the Italian Cadet National Team Massimiliano Pasca, always looking for the best solutions to bring talents to the senior national team.
Participating in a judo session for children is synonymous with happiness, fun and freedom, being able to express oneself freely on the tatami (mat on which activities take place) with bare feet, being able to roll, walk, run, interact with one’s companions, fall, play the “fight” without getting hurt … learning to fall is the first fundamental that is taught in a judo Dojo (place of performance), to face and overcome fears and adversities, always falling and getting up is the metaphor of life.
In judo we teach never to give up, with family education it is certainly a winning combination for the physical, cognitive and spiritual growth of a child or a boy and helps to manage self-control and to have respect for others. In short, judo is a discipline to be recommended to everyone, even adults. The new courses for the 2022/2023 season will start from September.
