Organized by the Judo Club de Longueau, the annual Longueau tournament saw no less than 30 clubs compete.
Like every year, it is a success in terms of attendance, with no less than 436 judo players from all generations who have come together for this interclub tournament. After more than two year hiatus (for health reasons), we saw a lot of smiles among the youngest as well as among the most experienced. Clubs from all over the Somme, such as Montdidier, Ailly-sur-Noye or Peronne were among the entrants. The longacois club even hosted this year young ukrainian judokas during this tournament.
We still want to (…) maintain this good interclub atmosphere
Laurent Bridoux, volunteer president of the Judo Club of Longueau
In office for two years, the president of the Judo Club of Longueau, Laurent Bridoux tells us of his satisfaction after a lively tournament. ” This year, we are on a very good vintage. Obviously, each fighter has emerged from his fights and this creates links between judokas, regardless of their club. The contract is fulfilled for us. It remains a seasonal tournament that we have been keen to organize for several years now. People come to have fun and we still want to campaign to maintain this good interclub atmosphere. »
President Longacoissien is pleased with the very good organization of this tournament. ” We are proud to claim that it is a tournament that is often remembered for its pleasant setting, for the values of judo and for its popularity in the metropolis. Those who started judo this year come to discover the environment of the competition and those who resume come to review their level. The pressure in this tournament does not exist. »
The president continues by providing an update on his club and the tournament. ” The Longueau club is quite diversified in terms of profiles: we will leave the choice to the licensees if they prefer to accentuate their technical level or their competitive level and we are very proud of that. With the Covid, we have an age group that we have lost sight of, but I think that in some time, we will be able to send some of our judokas to the French championships. In any case, the club is developing and we are very satisfied with the results as a whole and everyone’s investment.
Laurent Bridoux is not against the idea of an increase in the number of participants but it remains cautious about the development of this annual meeting. “We generally shoot between 400 and 500 participants. JI think we can still afford to increase the attendance. But 500 participants is already a lot and I think that if we don’t keep this stability, we would be likely to lose the family atmosphere that we have for the tournament. »
