Winning the world veteran judo championships is the challenge that judokas have set themselves on the move in France. The three competitors have been preparing for it since the beginning of the year.
Laurent Delaunay, William Lemoine and Christophe Letournel take off this Wednesday, June 15, 2022, heading for the metropolis. They will defend, in Tremblay-en-France, the colors of the Butokuden Dojo and of course of Saint-Pierre and Miquelon.
Everyone hopes for one thing: to get on the top step of the podium during this French veterans championship.

This is the second competition for Laurent Delaunay. Remember, in May 2022, he had participated in the 7th international tournament of Gérardmer, in the under 100 kilos. He had bowed during his two fights. This time, he hopes to do better.
For my part, I will try to be more aggressive than during the last competition, that’s what I missed. And then try to give as much as possible in this competition hoping not to come across someone who is too difficult at the start.

William Lemoine is making a comeback in competitions outside the archipelago. The last time he fought was in Marrakech in 2019.

Even if he is a regular at competitions, he admits “that there is always apprehension before fights“.
We don’t know who we’re going to run into, but the most important thing is that it’s a good championship, at a high level, with very good competitors.
William Lemoine, graduate of the Butokuden Dojo
It’s quite a challenge that awaits the three judokas of the archipelago. A sporting event that they have been preparing for more than three months.
This will be an opportunity to live a group experience even if it is an individual fight.
