Mediterranean Games of Oran 2022: eight Auvergnats selected for the French team

Three athletes, a basketball player, a swimmer, an archery shooter and two volleyball players: Auvergne athletes will not be absent from the next Mediterranean Games, which are taking place in Oran (Algeria), from June 25 to July 5 .

Some selections had already been announced, but the official CNOSF list fell on Friday.

Ligue 1: Clermont Foot knows the calendar for its 2022/2023 season

Athletics will thus be able to count on three representatives, all from Clermont Auvergne Athlétisme (CAA): Meriem Sahnoune in the women’s 800m, Gatien Airiau in the 3,000m steeplechase and Yann Chaussinand in the hammer throw.

Anaïs Podevin, the swimmer from Stade Clermontois, will compete in the 100m backstroke and 200m backstroke events. Licensed to Archers Riomois, Romain Fichet will participate in individual, double and team archery events.

Manon Bernard and Eva Elouga, the libero and central of VBC Chamalières, appear in the French women’s volleyball team.
