One hundred and twenty students took part in the school basketball day

As part of the school basketball action carried out for three years by the Bessèges basket-club, a rally took place this Thursday, June 16 at the André-Rouvière sports hall.

Despite the heat, more than 120 children from the Petit-Villard schools in Bessèges, from Molières-sur-Cèze, and from the Castellas college (creation for the first year of a basketball section at the college) who came together to spend a day of workshops and small matches. If the students of Molières came by bus, those of Petit-Villard made the trip on foot.

An action to encourage the practice of basketball

This day was a great success and all the participants left sweating, but very happy.

The leaders headed by the duo of presidents Sarah Arbousset and Xavier Saint-Martory only perpetuate and accentuate what has been done before them in the long history of basketball in Bessèges.

All the same, it remains to underline the active presence during the interventions at the Molières-sur-Cèze school and especially throughout the year within the framework of the training sessions and matches of the BBC of Fanny Fauveaux always “in the oven and at the mill”.

There is no doubt that this action should awaken some young people to the practice of basketball and this with a “winner winner” association and students wishing to practice this sport so alive in the town.

The club’s general meeting will be held on Sunday June 26 in this same André-Rouvière sports hall at 10 a.m. to close a very rich post-Covid season.
