COUNTDOWN: In the absence of 500 days for the start of the appointment, the organizing committee of Santiago 2023 launched the official confirmation of the competition venues for the 75 disciplines from the Pan American Games and the Parapan American Games.
In the act held at the National Stadium it was announced that they will be 4 regions, 19 communes and 41 venues will host the largest sports festival in the Americas.
“I am very happy to formally announce all sports and disciplines not only here in Santiago, but also in other regions. That means a lot to us, to be able to decentralize sport and these games. I have no doubt that we will have a wonderful party and that we will be united as a country to receive in the best way the countries and athletes who are going to visit us next year”, Alexandra Benado, the Chilean Sports Minister and President of the Santiago 2023 Corporation, indicated.
Neven Ilic, the president of Panam Sports, wanted to convey calm in the face of the versions of delays in the works: “We are going to arrive in the best shape with the best facilities. Today’s challenge is to finish the constructions in a timely manner. Today we are still in good weather. It is not a mystery that there are venues where we must advance the process and where it will be very important that all the actors who must approve the works commit to the Pan American Games and help us get ahead to start the work as soon as possible.”
The great sporting event, in its conventional form, will take place from October 20 to November 5 of next year, while the Parapan American Games will be from November 17 to 26bringing together nearly 9,000 athletes from 41 countries on the continent between the two events.
