Pro League & Amateurs ACFF: Discover all the compositions of the national and regional divisions

The last verdict did not fall this Sunday with the interruption of the final of the interprovincial final round between Meix-devant-Virton and Hornu, due to deluge. The Luxembourg and Hainaut clubs will have to meet this week to compete for the last ticket offering promotion to D3 ACFF. We will then know all the teams that will make up the national and regional series, from the Jupiler Pro League to the ACFF amateur divisions, with a great novelty: the appearance of U23 teams from professional clubs, even if this point is still the subject discussions (the financial aspect and the qualification of players are always a problem). It will also be necessary to confirm the mode of operation of the various championships, because we are still awaiting an agreement concerning the new reform of professional football…

While waiting for the important meetings to come, and the final of the interprovincial final round to replay, here is what the 2022-2023 championships will look like…

Jupiler Pro League

18 teams:

  • Club Bruges
  • Union Saint-Gilloise
  • Anderlecht
  • Charleroi
  • Standard
  • eupen
  • Seraing
  • Antwerp
  • Ghent
  • Genk
  • Mechelen
  • Saint-Trond
  • Cercle Bruges
  • OH Louvain
  • Ostend
  • Kortrijk
  • Zulte-Waregem
  • Westerlo (promu, champion of the 1B Pro League)

Instructions for use (subject):
Classic phase of 34 days + Champions playoffs for the first 4 (with points divided by 2) + Europe playoffs for the clubs ranked from 5th to 8th place (with points divided by 2).
The 18th descends to 1B Pro League. The 17th plays a play-off against the 2nd in 1B Pro League.

The exact terms of the organization of the Jupier Pro League 2002/2023 are still the subject of discussion, since three clubs were to go down in 2022-2023 to return to a championship with 16 teams, as before the Covid pandemic. But the Pro League wants to initiate a new reform (14-18; 12-12-12, etc.?)

Calendar:
The start of the new season is scheduled for the weekend of July 23 and 24. There will be a truce during the 2022 World Cup in Qatar (from 11/21 to 12/18).

1B Pro League

12 teams:

  • RWDM
  • Virton
  • Waasland-Beveren

  • Dender (promu de Nationale 1)
  • Genk U23 (new)
  • Club Bruges U23 (new)
  • Anderlecht U23 (new)
  • Standard U23 (new)

Instructions for use (subject):
Classic phase of 22 days + Promotion playoffs for the first 6 (10 days) + Relegation playoffs for the last 6 (10 days). The points from the regular competition will be maintained. The team that wins the Promotion playoffs will be crowned 1B champions and promoted to the Jupiler Pro League (a U23 team cannot advance). The last of the relegation playoffs will go down to National 1 (a U23 team can go down).

The organization of the 2022-2023 championship is still dependent on the current discussions within the Pro League regarding a possible further reform.

Calendar:
The start of the new season is scheduled for the weekend of August 13 and 14. Unlike the Jupiler Pro League, there will be no break during the 2022 World Cup in Qatar (from 11/21 to 12/18).

Instructions for use (subject):

What is “on the table”: classic phase of 34 days with or without final round (strong hesitations because of the N1 licenses not essential to play the final round D2 but to play in National 1, which causes imbroglios like this season with Rebecq for example…). The champion goes up to National 1 if he obtains his licence. The last three classified go down to D3 ACFF + barrage? (still subject, depends on the meetings taking place in the next few days).

Calendar:
The start of the new season is scheduled for the weekend of August 27-28. No truce during the 2022 World Cup in Qatar (from 21/11 to 18/12).
