The High Performance Center hosted the Baja Cup of Badminton, an event that has served as a warm-up and exchange between players from the state and from across the border.
Medalist players from the last National and National Youth Olympiad, held in Allende, Nuevo León, participated in this competition that took place over the weekend.
Similarly, the event served as a preparation platform for younger children who have their first contact with the rooster, the racket and the net.
The Cup had its second edition and was held with the support of the State Association of Badminton and the Institute of Sports and Physical Culture of Baja California (INDE).
Among the medalists who paraded through the CAR fields were the Yaquelin and Yesenia Duarte sisters, as well as Adelina Quiñonez, Emilio Angulo, Ezra Guerrero, Andrea Herrera and Vanessa López, among others.
The Cup was held in both branches, as well as in singles and doubles and included categories such as A, B, C and initiation, which is one of those considered most important to continue guaranteeing the growth of the program.
In the last National Olympiad, Baja California obtained 12 medals in total with 2 gold, 3 silver and 7 bronze, in addition to the fact that the state finished as general runner-up in this contest.
Meanwhile, in the Junior National, Baja was also the second best state with four medals in total, with two gold, one silver and one bronze. In both contests, the state obtained 16 medals.
