On June 19, the Sports Festival returns after two years: the appointment organized by ASSL and the Municipality of Legnano will be in Piazza Mercato from 10:00 to 19:00.
Legnano – There will be one thirty associations, three fields (for basketball, volleyball and soccer), one space for martial arts, a stage for presentationsl’area for flag waving performances and the refreshment point.
After two years, the “Sports Festival “
It will look like this Market Square Sunday 19 June from 10:00 to 19:00 for the “Sports Festival “, which returns after a two-year suspension. Last September the ASSL board had communicated to the municipal administration the decision to postpone the party to June 2022 given the risk of gatherings; a resolution that was realized by renewing the collaboration between the parties. The event is promoted to bring people of all ages closer to the various sports disciplines, giving them the opportunity to try their hand at the various playing fields.
The sport of Legnano meets its city
It will be a June 19 dedicated to sport what it is will see the city realities of Legnano sport as protagonists on a day entitled “The sport of Legnano meets its city”In which many sports disciplines will be represented in the space in front of the Castello park. In a city with about seventy associations, of which 55 are members of ASSL, 34 will be the ones that will take part in the event.
Present at the presentation press conference Lorenzo Radice mayor of Legnano, the councilor for sport Guido Bragato, Carlo Bandera president of the ASSL, Letterio Munafò president of the Sports Commission and Agata Lazzati president of the Live for Life Academy Sports Association and member of the ASSL board.
To be the first to speak Lorenzo Radice: “It was a tiring commitment that the municipal administration absorbed the whole of having set up this event, a commitment also shared by the minority who knows how to spur us on and even pull our ears when needed. We have to start again after two years from the point of view of values, we need to know how to compare ourselves. I thank Carlo Bandera for what he has done to organize the sports day and above all for what he does during the year”.
On the same wavelength Guido Bragato: “It is right and right to promote sporting activity, since I took office I have had confirmation of how active and inclusive sport in Legnano is. The new configuration in the market square of our sports festival takes into account the different needs and in my opinion it is a guess given the high number of people who frequent that area during the weekend “.
Letterio Munafò expressed important concepts on the function of sport: “Legnano has always been a city with sporting DNA, just look at the results that keep coming. Investing in sport in order to have adequate structures means having to face considerable efforts on the part of an administration that has many problems to solve. I want to thank the Legnano companies, their managers and families, with the help of everyone and in a constructive way we can think of solving the problems. My commitment is towards the things that can be done shortly and over time, we will need to do even more of what we are doing, with serenity and professionalism, with courage and, above all, as a team”.
Carlo Bandera is a bit the soul of this event, the one who is the operative arm and the operative mind of the sport day: “I like to say that sport is a complete experience and not a sum of values, sport is the opportunity we have to become bigger. The idea was to ensure that all clubs could express their sporting sensitivity to show what sport is. The designated area will be divided into many fields shared with other disciplines, each one will have to bring their own skills to allow the Legnanese sport to be known by the entire citizenship. The work we have done at the organizational level will also serve us for the future without forgetting that there are still several problems to be solved.”.
In the end Agata Lazzati: “We wanted to create a sort of sports citadel in which there will also be several information points. There will be a soccer field that will also be used by rugby, football, baseball and softball, a basketball court, a volleyball court, an athletics track and a stage where the gymnasts will perform, in short, we wanted to give the idea of how vast the world of sport in Legnano is”.
The performances will take place in time slots 10-13 and 15-19.
On the sidelines of this day the president of ASSB Carlo Bandera announced plans to organize a Christmas of Sportsmen in which the most deserving athletes and clubs from Legnano will be awarded.
