This woman is unstoppable. Iga Swiatek wins the French Open for the second time after 2020 – and in an impressive way. The 21-year-old Pole prevailed in the final against American Coco Gauff (WTA 29) 6:1, 6:3.
Even the start of the game is impressive. With a double break, Swiatek pulls away to 4-0 and then doesn’t let anything burn in the first set. After 33 minutes it’s 6:1. Too much for Gauff. The 18-year-old American disappears briefly into the cloakroom to collect herself.

An excursion that gives her a temporary boost. She got off to a lightning start in the second round and took a 2-0 lead with a break. A short gasp. With five games in a row, Swiatek turns the whole thing back in their favor. After 70 minutes she uses her first match point. And not only celebrates the second Grand Slam title of her career, the world number 1 continues to expand her incredible series. She hasn’t lost in 35 games. The triumph at the French Open is her sixth tournament win in a row.
Swiatek’s victory also pleases compatriot Robert Lewandowski. The 33-year-old Polish striker celebrates in Swiatek’s box and briefly hugs her immediately after the triumph.
