The CEIP L’Horta de Paiporta concludes the second year as a Center for the Promotion of Physical Activity and Sports

The CEIP L’Horta de Paiporta concludes this year the second year as a Center for the Promotion of Physical Activity and Sports (CEPAFE). In the project, which has had the collaboration of the Ministry of Education, Culture and Sports and the Department of Sports of the Paiporta City Council, as well as different Valencian sports federations, the students have had the opportunity to learn more about sports such as rugby, cycling, badminton, handball, mountaineering and climbing.

Some of these activities have had charitable purposes, thanks to the agreements between the paiportino center and Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) such as Save The Children, to which funds raised on World Sports Day were allocated last April.

For the Councilor for Sports, Marian Val, “initiatives such as those of the CEIP L’Horta are essential for promoting healthy lifestyles and encouraging the practice of sports among the younger population of Paiporta who, according to the studies carried out, had suffered because of the pandemic.

«Sport -Val continued-, contains values such as inclusion, solidarity or teamwork, which are essential in education, and from the Department of Sports and the Municipal Sports Service we will always be together with all those initiatives that promote its practice, as is this CEIP L’Horta».

Recognition as a Center for the Promotion of Physical Activity and Sport (CEPAFE) entails the granting of a subsidy from the Ministry of Education, Culture and Sport, and is focused on transversal development, throughout the entire course and with the involvement of all the actors and actresses of the educational community, on topics such as health promotion, recreation, competition, gender equality, coexistence, social integration and care for the environment.

The CEIP L’Horta de Paiporta will once again opt for recognition as a CEPAFE by the Ministry of Education in the next academic year to continue promoting the knowledge and practice of different sports.
