The IES Alto Conquero hosts the closing of the first year of the Sports Excellence course (CEEDA)

The director of the IES Alto Conquero, Juan José Romero, opened the meeting thanking all levels for their presence and the work done during this course. “The program from the perspective of the Educational Center has a very positive assessment, for this reason we firstly thank the Education and Sports delegation for the support received in relation to the organization and planning of the center; Likewise, the tireless work of the academic tutors is to be appreciated, not only in the accompaniment of the students, the true protagonist of the program, but also in the effort made to attend to their training in the best possible way, responding to the demands both academically and professionally. emotional that these athletes require. Training that arises on the other hand, the result of collaborative work between the Education and Sports delegation and the Huelva-Isla Cristina teacher training center, which has provided them with the necessary training tools to attend students in an integral way. Without this support for the students, this program would not have achieved the success that we are assessing here today”

Villalba for his part, has made an assessment that goes beyond the province of Huelva, declaring that she feels very satisfied with the program and with the coordination of the same, positioning itself as a reference for all the CEEDA of Andalusia. “I am very satisfied with how this program has gone, how we have carried it out here in Huelva, how we have worked together.” “This program was born with a vocation to grow, not only in the number of athletes who participate, but also in new sports modalities such as Archery, which is included in the program for the next course and which will have the sports facilities of the field of archery of the Assyrian Club. This, in the words of the delegate, also demonstrates the support we receive from the General Directorate in how things are being done here, which is why I feel very satisfied and proud of our athletes and of all the professionals who are here today, closing a first year of hard work and greater success” concluded the territorial delegate for Education and Sports.

Charles Longo, president of the Andalusian Badminton Federation, has made a balance from his sporting modality and has pointed out that “in badminton this program has been a very important boost for the work that is carried out in the modernization and training center. With the work carried out from all levels, this year we have achieved several podiums in the Spanish Championships, although it is worth noting the absolute women’s individual title of Cristina Teruel with only 16 years and the award of the Andalusia Sports Award 2021 for her academic record with an average grade in ESO close to 10 (9.9), which shows that their academic performance can be reconciled with a sporting achievement of this caliber thanks to the program that today closes its first year of existence”.



As to the climbing modality, the representative of the Federation of Mountaineering, Climbing and HikingJosé Pereira, in his annual balance, has made reference to the growth and consolidation of sporting achievements such as the one achieved by Iván Traverso, champion of Spain in speed in the sub 18 category last year and the bronze he achieved in the second round of the Copa de Spain Block and first speed held in Oviedo last weekend.

CEEDA HUELVA

The Educational Center of Sports Excellence of Andalusia (Ceeda) is a project that is constituted in a Public Center dependent on the Ministry of Education and Sports of the Junta de Andalucía, with the aim of facilitating the compatibility of Baccalaureate and Training teachings. Professional with the training of Andalusian athletes of basic performance and high performance.

This initiative, pioneer at the national level, it aims to open a future line with the university stage to guide academic performance and sports of athletes during their sporting life, with the aim of retaining Andalusian talent in our community and helping these athletes to achieve the highest achievements in both sports and academic performance.

The implementation of the project in the province has been based on the axis formed by the facilities of the Sports City and the Palacio de Deportes, the availability of accommodation at the Albergue Inturjoven and the educational offer of the IES Alto Conquero. All these facilities are located within a radius of just one kilometer.

The IES Alto Conquero already has specific teachers to support athletes who, in coordination with the sports federations, he exercised tutoring in order to provide them with both the academic and personal support they required during the academic year.

The athletes also had the advice and follow-up of the professionals of the Andalusian Center for Sports Medicine, which has its facilities located in the Huelva Sports City Complex itself and who provided all the assistance and follow-up services available for medical control. of the project participants.
