BOLASPORT.COM – The story of the bribery trial faced by Taufik Hidayat at the 2006 Doha Asian Games came out again. This time the legend told his experience to outside players.

Taufik Hidayat told it in podcast which was guided by the Danish men’s singles badminton duo, Anders Antonsen and Hans Kristian Solberg Vittinghus.

Incidentally, Taufik’s achievement of winning a gold medal at the 2006 Doha Asian Games is mentioned in the 25th episode of podcast bertajuk ‘The Badminton Experience’.

As previously revealed, Taufik was once offered to surrender by one of the Malaysian badminton team officials ahead of the semifinal match against Lee Chong Wei.

“There is a funny story, I don’t know if you have read the news or not,” Taufik told Antonsen and Vittinghus.

“About match fixing in Doha. Manager Lee Chong Wei, came to my room in the morning and we talked.”

“He said, Taufik how much bonus do you receive if you get a gold medal.”

“You’ve got gold at the 2002 Asian Games in Busan while Lee has never won it.”

“I want you to lose to Lee, I’ll give you double, triple, of the bonus you received.”
