Fortuna doesn’t want to leave anything to chance next season. Not even interjections…
At the training camp in Bad Leonfelden, Austria, a very special session with an external coach was on the program on Friday: Sargon Duran (35) used to be a player himself (including at Tennis Borussia Berlin in 2009/10) and now works as an assistant coach for the Austrian women’s national team and with Admira Wacker Mödling.

In addition to these two jobs, the native of Vienna has discovered another niche for himself: he offers himself as a freelance throw-in trainer. On Friday morning he practiced with some Fortuna players for 45 minutes.
Duran: “Unfortunately, it’s not normal for that to be done. It’s about recognizing the importance of throw-ins. We improved the distance with the right technique. For example, don’t stop when you run up, but keep running when the ball leaves your hands – that’s allowed. Some Fortuna players now throw 3 to 4 meters further. That’s great. I believe that every player should have a weapon. And for some, that can and should be objections.”
Emma Iyoha (24) had fun: “There were a few good tricks. Every player saw an improvement. Now we have to see what that brings us in the games.”
If only ONE important goal jumped out of this extra training, the effort would have been worth it…
