If football still knows how to give romantic stories, the credit goes to characters like Federico Gatti, who never stop believing in their dreams. Born on June 24, 1998 in Rivoli, Gatti made the so-called apprenticeship, starting from promotion and earning the national team jersey. At 17 he started working as mason after his father was unemployed, but at the same time he played soccer between Promotion ed Excellence with the shirts of Saluzzo, Pavarolo and Verbania. With the latter he obtained promotion to Serie D, before a further leap in quality, to Serie C with Pro Patria. Federico’s rise, however, did not stop, given that he was hired by Frosinone in Serie B and then even by Juventus, who stole him from Turin by paying the figure of 7.5 million euros.

The high point of Gatti’s career, however, will be the evening of Saturday 11 June 2022, in which he will wear the jersey of the Italian national team and will play as a starter at Molineux againstEngland. Regardless of how he goes, it is a unique experience for the boy, who was actually born as a mezzala. Over time, however, he has set back and now finds himself leading the defense, tonight’s a little more prestigious than the others. A dream that has come true, but not a point of arrival for Gatti, who wants to take away other satisfactions of the kind and aim higher and higher.
