Louis van Gaal, national coach of the Dutch national team, deliberately left talents such as Brian Brobbey, Sven Botman and Lutsharel Geertruida with the Dutch Juniors, to increase the chance of qualifying for the European Championship.
Now that that has been successful, Van Gaal could still get the talents from the ‘big’ Orange for the duels with Poland and Wales. “That could be,” Van de Looi responds. “I think we’ll call tomorrow.”
Mutual result
The Orange and Switzerland both have 23 points, but Switzerland is out of action. If the Orange loses on Saturday, it is still the group winner because the mutual result is leading and not the goal difference. The Dutch Juniors played 2-2 in Lausanne in October and defeated the Swiss in Deventer 2-0 at the end of March.
The first game at the European Championship will be played on June 6, 2023.
