The Italian Cup of the Archery Regions next year will be held in Abbadia San Salvatore. It is included in next year’s competition calendar approved by Fitarco, the Italian archery federation. There are many sporting events in this discipline. But the most important is precisely that of the Italian Regions’ Cup to be held at the foot of Amiata on the weekend of 15-26 July next year.
“We learn with great satisfaction the choice made by Fitarco for archery competitions, certainly among the most important, perhaps the most important on the calendar. The choice follows the initiative we hosted last year. Thanks to the leaders of the Federation. , sincere thanks to the engineer Gino Antonio Focacci, president of the company that organizes these events “.
There are two specialties in the category: Campaign Shooting and Targa Shooting. Sixteen shooters for each of the twenty regions present in the championship. Some of the competitive competitions, those of the “country shooting” will take place at the municipal stadium, the others in areas that have yet to be defined. A great sporting event – last year the success was obtained for the Italian championship of “Tiro di Campagna, an important competition but perhaps a little less than the Coppa delle Regioni – which attracts many people to Abbadia San Salvatore.” Our competitions – says Gino Antonio Focacci, multiple Italian champion, world record holder, junior category, in 1973, they have an excellent following. I would say growing, because archery is a discipline that is appreciated very much when well framed. After this year’s break we return to Abbadia San Salvatore where we have already found great availability and organizational quality “.
At least five hundred, including shooters, coaches and staff, who will stay in hotels not only in Abbadia San Salvatore but also in other towns in the area. In fact, in addition to the “insiders”, ie the event, many supporters of shooters from the twenty regions are also expected. A long-range planning for the development of sports tourism in which the administrators of Abbadia San Salvatore believe very much. Until now the “Citadel of sport” has hosted many athletes who practice sports and also several international champions.
