ATP: Carlos Alcaraz rises to 5th in the world

PARIS – The Russian Daniil Medvedev is still at the top of the ATP ranking published on Monday, in an unchanged quartet ahead of the Spanish prodigy Carlos Alcaraz who has moved up one place and is now in 5th place, the best ranking of his career in 19 years old.

German Alexander Zverev, Spaniard Rafael Nadal and Greek Stefanos Tsitsipas are still following Medvedev. Alcaraz, beaten in the final on Sunday in Hamburg by the Italian Lorenzo Musetti, overtook the Norwegian Casper Ruud who retained his title in Gstaad by beating in the final another Italian, Matteo Berrettini who grabbed a place (14th).

Musetti jumped 31 places (from 62nd to 31st) after winning his first ATP title on Sunday in Hamburg.
