Bernarte awarded distinctions to San Francisco athletes – DiarioSports

On Wednesday morning, Mayor Damián Bernarte, together with Secretary of Government Rodrigo Buffa, Directors of Sports Juan Iturburu and Government Carlos De Rosa, and councilors Gustavo Bocca and Claudia Maine received athletes from the city to present them with a recognition for his outstanding work carried out this year.

Bernarte welcomed the guests and expressed: “From my time in the Deliberative Council I always remember that at the initiative of Marina Llaryora, who opportunely was also a mayor for our city, this type of recognition was promoted and I understand that they are fair since they represent the expression of the will of all the residents of San Francisco, therefore, is the city that recognizes and celebrates the performance of athletes”commented the president.

He added: “We understand that this serves as a stimulus not only for those who receive the distinction to continue, but for others who may also feel it as an extra motivation, as a goal to achieve. We have a decision from the municipal state to make visible through sport values that we want to be replicated in life in society, linking the practice of different disciplines, in addition to developing healthy lifestyle habits that improve people’s quality of life , forms us with discipline, with responsibility and solidarity within the framework of collective constructions or ideas”.

“We are evaluating working on a sports scholarship ordinance”

This was stated by Bernarte during the delivery of distinctions to the athletes. “Beyond the recognition that is made to the city’s athletes, who participate in provincial, national or international competitions, we are evaluating for the next 2023 session period, work on a scholarship ordinance that allows federated athletes, in disciplines of an individual nature, not in traditional sports to call them in some way, access economic support from the municipality, in order to collaborate with their participation in their competitions, either to allocate them to materials, supplies or for mobility expenses “.

Also, the mayor said: “We understand that the implementation of scholarships by the municipal state is necessary. The idea is to establish objective parameters that are the same for everyone, because many times there are athletes who do not have the means or do not know the mechanisms to request some type of support from the municipal state while others do, and that is where there is a inequality plane. In order not to generate these asymmetries, we understand that the most logical path is to determine a certain regulatory framework that provides greater possibilities through a municipal law”culmino Bernarte.
