Home game in the round of 16 of the cup: In mid-April, BG Göttingen welcomes ratiopharm Ulm, a team that the violets still have fond memories of last season.
Göttingen. Light and shadow have alternated at BG Göttingen in the MagentaSport BBL Cup in the past two seasons. After entering the top four tournament in the 2020/21 season, the first round in Braunschweig followed. On Tuesday afternoon, the first-round opponent of the violets in the competition for the 2022/23 season was determined: Head coach Roel Moors’ team has home advantage in the round of 16, opponents in the Sparkassen-Arena will then be ratiopharm Ulm.
The German all-around champion in gymnastics, Sarah Voss, pulled the balls out of the glass and drew the Göttingen team into the fifth game. The violets have fond memories of Ulm, having won both games against the southern Germans last season. There was a change of coach and also changes in the squad – just like in the BG. So it remains to be seen which of the two teams will get the better start to the season.
