As always, the Lithuania will be a nation to be taken seriously in international competition. After France, Bosnia and Germany, the Lithuanian selection (also present in group B) has thus announced the names of those who make up its pre-selection, with a view to the next EuroBasket.
Coach Kazys Maksvytis has chosen to retain 16 players and three of them play in the NBA: Domantas Sabonis (Kings), Jonas Valančiūnas (Pelicans) and Ignas Brazdeikis (Magic). Suffice to say that the interior sector will once again be the strength of this team, thanks to the pair Sabonis / Valanciunas…
Note also the presence of Mindaugas Kuzminskas, the former Knicks winger (2016-2018), and Rokas Jokubaitis, the 34th choice of the 2021 Draft. A rather solid workforce, which will therefore cross swords with France, Germany and Bosnia in the group stage (in Cologne), as well as Slovenia (defender) and Hungary.
The first four of this group B will then qualify for the final phase (in Berlin).
Moreover, between Domantas Sabonis and Jonas Valanciunas (Lithuania), Rudy Gobert (France), Jusuf Nurkic (Bosnia) or even Daniel Theis (Germany), the battles promise to be tough inside, in this chicken…
