FC Bayern confirms that Mathys Tel is moving from Stade Rennes to Munich. He is considered one of the greatest football talents in Europe. Hasan Salihamidzic speaks of an “extraordinary player”.
Dhe FC Bayern made the transfer of French striker Mathys Tel perfect. As the German record champion announced on Tuesday, the 17-year-old comes from the French first division club Stade Rennes. The Munich company did not provide any information about the duration of the contract. According to media reports, the teenager is said to have signed a five-year contract.
Tel is considered one of the greatest soccer talents in Europe. The captain of France’s U-17 national team is said to cost a transfer fee of up to 30 million euros. The teenager has not yet been able to present himself permanently at the first division level. The Sturmjuwel made seven brief appearances in Ligue 1 for Rennes.

“We’ve been watching him for a long time and have now been able to convince him to take his next important steps with us in Munich,” said sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic. “The development of such an extraordinary young player is an exciting project for all of us. We are all convinced that he has a great career ahead of him and that he will help our team.”
After Sadio Mané (Liverpool FC), Matthijs de Ligt (Juventus Turin) as well as Noussair Mazraoui and Ryan Gravenberch (Ajax Amsterdam), Tel is the fifth new signing from Munich this summer. Konrad Laimer (RB Leipzig) is another candidate.
