Joey Gallo hit a two-run triple on a loose fly by right fielder Christian Arroyo, who lost the ball at dusk. Gallo, however, was taken out at home plate trying to turn the triple into an inside home run.

After going 0 for 3 with two strikeouts, Red Sox third baseman Rafael Devers left the game after the fourth inning due to lower back pain. He winced as he batted his last at bat.
Carpenter made his first start to left field since Sept. 7, 2012, and his homer was his ninth since joining the Yankees on May 26. He has a .305 batting average with 20 RBIs.
