Balcer spent the last two seasons with the Sharks, and he stated that during this time he managed to gain the trust of the coaches of the San Jose unit.
“When I was in San Jose, the coaches gave me good opportunities and trusted me. I had my playing time, which helped me get more experience of what NHL hockey is like. It’s a long season, you have to learn to deal with games that are every other day,” the hockey player explained.
“I’m happy about the change. It gives an extra spark and something new. I worked hard in the summer, so I can’t wait for the new season,” Balcer added.
The 25-year-old Latvian hockey player has played 153 games in four NHL seasons for the Ottawa “Senators” and “Sharks”, where he has accumulated 57 (25+32) points. The most productive season for the Latvian striker was the last season, during which he collected 23 (11+12) points in 61 matches.
Balcers made his NHL debut in 2018/2019. in the season of 2008, when he scored five goals in 36 matches, assisted nine times and accumulated a negative +/- indicator of -7.
