Katia Castillo Bustos, a student at the Autonomous University of the State of Mexico (UAEMéx) and member of the judo representative of this university, won the silver medal in the -63 kg category, at the 2022 Senior Pan American Open, which celebrates in Guayaquil, Ecuador.

In this competition, the student of the Bachelor of Environmental Sciences of the Faculty of Urban and Regional Planning of the UAEMéx prevailed over her peers from Ecuador, Belgium and Argentina, showing off the good time she is experiencing within the discipline.

His participation in the Senior Pan American Open is part of his preparation and training; It is aimed at strengthening its performance in the face of international competitions.

In this regard, the university coach Carlos Alberto García Montes de Oca said he was satisfied with the performance of the university athlete in this fair held in Ecuador.

Castillo Bustos affirmed that the international blank is oriented to his eventual participation in the 2024 Paris Olympic Games.

It is worth mentioning that last year the auriverde athlete participated in the Junior Pan American Games, held in Colombia.
