Mettmann-Sport honors members for commitment and achievements

They were honored in 2021: coach Alipio Penedo and track and field athletes Mara Berger, Emily Heyden and Emie Lotta Berger.

Mettmann. On Friday, August 5th, from 6.30 p.m., the annual awards ceremony for athletes and members of the Mettmann-Sport association will take place in the circus tent on the grounds of the Otfried-Preußler-School.

In addition to the honors for long-standing memberships (25 years and 50 years), the commitment of the honorary members is also recognized this year. Whether for special trainer activities or long-term department management, on this evening you will be said “thank you” on behalf of all volunteers in the association.

“Without our approximately 200 voluntary exercise managers, trainers and department heads, we would not be able to offer our numerous sports activities,” says Thomas Nolte, member of the Executive Committee at Mettmann-Sport. “Therefore we are happy and grateful that you support Mettmann-Sport eV with your commitment!”.

The circus children provide another program item on this evening – they present what they have learned from the circus camp week in the Manage.

In addition, more than 160 active members of the club will be honored for their sporting successes in the 2021/2022 season and for the 2021 sporting year. Emie Lotta Berger, among others, was able to celebrate with her title as German champion youth U16 at 3,000 meters in Hanover 2021. But the judoka, handball players and soccer players were also successful last season and were able to celebrate titles and promotions. In addition to first place in the international NRW Senioren-Cup Ü30 by Denis Schröder (Judo), the promotion of the women’s soccer team from the district league to the state league is also honored.
