The video game company Nintendo chose Santiago de la Ribera, in San Javier (Murcia), to kick off its traditional summer tour of the Spanish coast, which this summer has the motto ‘Get up and play’, according to municipal sources it’s a statement.

Thus, from this Saturday and until next Monday, this included, Nintendo disembarks at the Barnuevo esplanade with 15 game stalls spread over 600 meters available to which children, young people and adults who want to have fun with Nintendo will be able to access, free of charge. Switch Sports, between 6:00 p.m. and 11:59 p.m.

The mayor of San Javier, José Miguel Luengo, together with Esteban Rodríguez, head of the tour, the municipal mayor of Santiago de la Ribera and the Councilor for Fiestas, Isidoro Miñano, presented the event that invites participants to practice six different sports based on real body movements that the Nintendo Switch controllers bring directly to the screen.

Rodríguez explained that Nintendo Switch Sports is the sequel to the popular Wii Sports on the Wii and, like its predecessor, brings together families and friends to team up or compete against each other in six sports: tennis, bowling, chambara (swords), volleyball , badminton and soccer. The six sports are played based on rackets, shots or ball throws that are made with hands and legs.

The game is available to anyone and there is no need to handle complicated button combinations, since the Joy-Con controllers’ motion sensors make the game intuitive and realistic.

The space designed by Nintendo consists of a mobile structure that, once deployed, forms an area with several tents and a screen truck, plus a space at street level. The enabled positions will allow hundreds of games to be played per day, in groups of two to four people.

The most gamers will be able to try some of the games from the Nintendo Switch catalog inside the truck on Nintendo Switch-OLED Model consoles, which incorporates a seven-inch OLED screen with integrated speakers.
