On the third day of the 2022 COCABA Women’s Championship, the Costa Rican quintet handed the Panamanian National Team the third loss in a row from 72 to 61, a match played at the Rodrigo M. Quevedo gym in Chihuahua, Mexico.
The best offensive players for Costa Rica were Daniela Quesada with 18 points, six rebounds, four defenses and two assists; Ana Matamoros contributed with a double-double, scored 13 points, was the best on the boards with eleven rebounds, six were defensive, two assists; María Alvarado and María Mora both scored 10 points.
The point guard Ashley Reid was the most outstanding for Panama with 21 points, five rebounds, all defensive; leader in assists with eight and two recovered balls; Followed by Milan Tuttle, she scored 13 points, grabbed four rebounds, gave two assists, four steals, one block and Mariángel Concha from Santeña finished with 9 units, captured six rebounds, five were defensive and three steals.
Only two games remain for the Panamanian women’s national team, against Honduras tomorrow, Saturday the 30th at 4:00 p.m. (Panama time); and ends its participation on Sunday, July 31 at 6:45 p.m., against El Salvador.
