At the time of taking stock, C’Chartres Judo needed a long time to recap all the good results gleaned this year. The club chaired by Éric Lepagnot has simply had its most prolific season since its creation on the ashes of AJ28, in 2018.
“With more than 2,000 licensees against more than 20,000 for the North, for example, Eure-et-Loir is a small committee. But Chartres is starting to get people talking…”, welcomes Kylian Wuillot, the CCJ’s referent coach, sometimes assisted by other teachers.
Clearly, the strategy of bringing together the best Eurelian elements under the same banner, with the consent of the other clubs in the department, an idea carried by Sébastien Journet, is bearing fruit. “There is emulation in training and the judokas are progressing. Everyone wins, ”says Kylian Wuillot, also coach of the sports section of Hélène-Boucher college.
Increase in workforce
The level of the sessions could still go up a notch at the start of the school year. If Mathilde Fayol will become a training partner at Insep and don the kimono of the prestigious JC Maisons-Alfort (Val-de-Marne), the CCJ’s workforce will increase from 47 judokas to more than 60, with 16 arrivals. “Among our licensees, we will have nearly 20 in the hopes pole”, specifies Kylian Wuillot.
All these little people will meet for a preparation course at the end of August in La Roche-sur-Yon (Vendée). And the season could be even tastier for Chartres. From November, the club’s junior, Evan Gilles, will accompany Mathilde Fayol to the French senior D1 championships!
