Four 14-year-old baseball players are selected among the top 90 players of this age for the Claude Raymond Classic, which takes place this weekend.

They are Donovan St-Denis from Saint-Zotique, Dany Allen from Salaberry-de-Valleyfield and Yohan Guillemette from Saint-Étienne-de-Beauharnois who play for the Tigers du Lac Saint-Louis U-15 AA in the powerful Inter-city League of Montreal. The other player selected is Jérôme Fortier from Beauharnois, whose regular team is the Bantam AAA Patriotes de la Rive-Sud.

Last year, St-Denis was the MVP of his team. He plays at 1st base and as a pitcher and is a good power hitter. Allen at the 3rd base position and also hits the ball hard. Fortier is an exceptional qualified receiver who has a good stick. As for Guillemette, he is a pitcher with good rapidity.

These players were all recommended by former National League Baseball San Francisco Giants scout Ray Callari.

Eight teams have been formed for this tournament which represents the biggest baseball event of their young career. Seven are 14-year-old boys while the other is a U-16 female.

All players will play a minimum of four games in Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu. Various recruiters from the Baseball Academy of Canada or school teams will be on hand to analyze the players present.
