UFC Long Island Results – Brian Ortega’s Shoulder Dislodged, Searching for King’s Challenger Becomes anticlimactic

Brian Ortega’s fight against Yair Rodriguez at UFC Long Island, Saturday (16/7/2022) in New York, was stopped due to an injury incident.

JUARA.NET – The search for a featherweight king challenger ended anticlimactic after the main UFC Long Island duel was suspended due to Brian Ortega’s injury.

The series of UFC Long Island results, Saturday (16/7/2022) at UBS Arena, New York, was closed by the main event between Brian Ortega and Yair Rodriguez.

This is a duel between two of the UFC’s top featherweight champions.

Currently Brian Ortega is ranked 2nd and Yair Rodriguez is just below him.



The winner of this match has a good chance of advancing to the title duel against the featherweight king, Alexander Volkanovski.

Ortega’s last appearance was against Volkanovski at UFC 266 on September 25, 2021.

Having a total record of 15-2-1 no contest, Ortega has only ever lost to two champions above him in the rankings, namely Volkanovski and Max Holloway.

On the other hand, Rodriguez carries a 13-3-1 no contest record with the last being defeated by Holloway on November 13 last.
