Women’s League: David Gautier about to leave Angers for ASVEL

UF Angers coach David Gautier, 42, is in advanced talks to join ASVEL, according to Ouest France.

ASVEL is looking for a successor to Pierre Vincent whom it pushed out because of his conflicting relationships with several players. David Gautier has been the Angers coach since December 2016 and, born in 1980, he is from the same generation as Villeurbanne president Tony Parker. The Choletais, who has 13 selections for the France team, had seen his playing career interrupted prematurely due to injuries. He then converted to coaching, and in October 2021 he became assistant to Jean-Aimé Toupane in the France team. He still has one year left on his contract at UFAB.

Still according to Ouest France, Aurélie Bonnan would be able to replace him in Angers.
