WTA Draw 125 Bastad 2022

From July 4 to 9, the WTA 125 will be played on clay in the Swedish city of Bastad.

Third edition of the tournament Nordea Open which has a long history within the men’s circuit as one of the summer tournaments but in the women’s circuit it was established in the 2019 season. There, the first champion was Misaki Doi while that of 2021 was Nuria Párrizas. In this edition it will be Rebeka Masarova the only Spanish representative and the one who will seek to raise the title. Even so, it will not be easy at all since the tournament consists of a high level.

Qinwen Zheng, the young Chinese player who is going up, is the first seed in the draw coming from having a nice tournament at Wimbledon and having previously won the BBVA Valencia Open in the WTA 125 category. Rebecca Peterson and Mirjam Bjorklund are the Swedish hopes to see if they make it to the final rounds. As invited players, the wild cards have gone to three locals: Jacqueline Cabaj Awad, Kajsa Rinaldo Persson, Calijsa Hennemann and Lisa Zaar.
