Tennis star Angelique Kerber is expecting a child. The love for her partner Franco Bianco has not been known for long.
Update from August 24, 12:46 p.m.: Angelique Kerber’s baby luck is now official! The three-time Grand Slam winner announced the good news on her Instagram account. “I really wanted to play at the US Open, but in the end I decided that two against one wasn’t a fair competition after all,” she writes in a post and reveals with a baby emoji that offspring is on the way.
“I’m going to take a break for the next few months, I don’t think there’s a better reason for that. I will miss you all,” she continues. “I’m nervous and excited.”
First report from August 24th: Munich – Just a day ago, Alexander Zverev canceled his participation in the US Open, now it is clear: Angelique Kerber will not be there in New York either. Unlike Zverev’s injury, Kerber has a good reason: the 34-year-old is apparently pregnant. That reports the Bild.
Kerber has not yet officially canceled the US Open, its confirmation should probably follow on Wednesday afternoon. The father of the child should not be familiar to most: The public has only known about Kerber’s love with Franco Bianco since January, at the Australian Open the Hesse sat in the stands. He’s part of her coaching team.
Angelique Kerber is probably pregnant – with friend Franco Bianco
According to the report, Kerber’s friend Bianco is a fitness entrepreneur and comes from near Frankfurt. Kerber probably trained years ago on his tennis courts in the Königstein im Taunus sports park. Kerber is now on a longer tennis break, but she did not initially reveal when she would return to the court.
However, pregnancy should by no means be synonymous with the end of a career, like that Bild to have learned from their environment. Her big dream is to experience the 2024 Olympics in Paris. She no longer has to prove anything to anyone. With her three Grand Slam titles, she is the most successful German tennis player since Steffi Graf. (epp)
