ASVEL had planned to travel to the Philippines during its preparation, to develop commercial relations and play pre-season matches there. But the match against the national team has been postponed.
The French Embassy in the Philippines has announced that the pre-season match between ASVEL and the Philippines national team has to be postponed. Indeed, the selection of Jordan Clarkson and Kai Sotto is no longer available on Sunday, September 4. It remains to be seen whether the ASVEL tour on site, which must also face Blackwater Bossing as well as the Hong Kong Dragons, will be maintained.
This ten-day tour of the Philippine archipelago was organized as part of the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between France and the Philippines. It should also make it possible to establish an academy like the Tony Parker Adéquat Academy in Lyon.
French Embassy statement on the visit of French basketball team LDLC ASVEL to Manila: The friendly game between French team LDLC ASVEL and Philippine men’s national basketball team Gilas Pilipinas has been postponed to a later date.
