Basketball Bundesliga: Skyliners Frankfurt have a complete squad | hessenschau.de

The squad for the new Bundesliga season of the Skyliners Frankfurt is set. In Spain, the basketball players have found their last piece of the puzzle.

The Frankfurt Skyliners have completed their squad for the new season in the Basketball Bundesliga. A week before the start of training, the Hessians announced the signing of Laurynas Beliauskas. The combo guard, coming from Spain ACB’s Obradoiro, was the last missing piece of the puzzle.

Hoping for a lot of threesomes

The Lithuanian has signed a one-year contract with the Skyliners, where he is scheduled to be a shooting guard. “I would like to promise our fans that I will always give 100 percent on the floor and that they can hopefully look forward to many three-pointers from me because they are my greatest strength in the game,” said Beliauska, hoping that the Hessians would finally have a good shooter again found from the outside.

Beliauskas joins Joshua Obiesie, Justin Onyejiaka, JJ Frazier, Nolan Adekunle and Einaras Tubutis as the sixth new addition to coach Geert Hammink’s squad, who himself is entering his first year with the Skyliners. “I’ve known Einaras for a long time and I’m sure that we will quickly develop good chemistry,” Beliauskas said of his compatriot.

Only Haarms is missing for the start of training

The Skyliners will test the team chemistry for the first time on Friday. Then a first meal together is on the program, from Monday we will train. Only Dutchman Matt Haarms, who is still active with the national team, will be missing. In contrast to the many newcomers, the Big Man no longer has to acclimatize in Frankfurt.

“The conditions are very good for us to prepare as well as possible for the new season,” said Sport Manager Marco Völler. The season begins for the Hessians on September 30th with an away game in Bayreuth.
