SANTO DOMINGO.- The women’s tennis teams from Bolivia and Peru got their tickets and were promoted to Group I of the Americas of the Billie Jean King Cup by BNP Paribas, an event that was played at Parque del Este from July 25 to this Saturday with 17 countries.
The event gave only two seats, so Bolivia and Peru fulfilled their objectives.
Bolivia beat the local Dominican Republic in the final 2-0, after two intense matches, both moved several times by the constant rain that fell all day at the Parque del Este National Tennis Center.
The Dominicans and Bolivarians finished with a 3-0 record in the Group II round. The locals beat El Salvador, Bahamas and Bermuda. While those from Bolivia defeated Puerto Rico, Aruba and Panama.
In the other final for the pass to Group I of America, Peru surprised Uruguay, winning the series 2-1 this Saturday. The Peruvians finished the round robin 3-0, while the Uruguayans won four series in a row in a group of five teams.

The nations Aruba, Bahamas, Barbados, Bermuda, Bolivia, Costa Rica, Cuba, Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Honduras, Jamaica, Panama, Peru, Puerto Rico, Trinidad and Tobago, Uruguay, US Virgin Islands and Venezuela attended the event. .
