This contest will take place between November 14 and 20 of this year in the region, in the disciplines of athletics, soccer, swimming, judo, basketball, volleyball and cycling.
With the presence of representatives of the Argentine provinces and Chilean regions, the Second Annual Ordinary Meeting of the Binational Games of Araucanía – Los Lagos 2022 is held in Puerto Montt.
In this instance, both the Seremi del Deporte, Carolina Urrutia and the Regional Director of the IND, Matias Bahamonde and the Head of the Department of High-Performance Sports and Competition of the region, Patricio Morales, participate.
This meeting takes place in the regional capital, because the Los Lagos Region will host the XXIX version of these Games, which will take place between November 14 and 20 of this year, in the sub-venues of Osorno, Puerto Montt, Ancud and Castro.
These Games are the maximum expression of the sports competition of the Chilean-Argentine South, which will convene more than two thousand five hundred young athletes, women and men, aged 15 to 19, from the Argentine provinces located between La Pampa and Tierra del Fuego and the Chilean regions, between Ñuble and Magallanes.
The athletes will compete in the disciplines of athletics, soccer, swimming, judo, basketball, volleyball and cycling.
During this day, the delegations toured and visited the different sports venues to verify the state of the facilities, which will be used for the development of the different competitions.
The Sports Seremi, Carolina Urrutia, pointed out that “there have been several days of intense work, with many meetings and visits, we have reached agreements regarding what is coming, this great event, where we are trying to leave everything right so that this turns out as appropriate, taking into account that we are the representatives of Chile in the only Binational Games that are going to take place this year 2022, being the previous Pan American and Parapan American Games in Santiago 2023. That is why we assume this important role, creating alliances with municipalities and private companies, which facilitated the spaces in infrastructure that are available for the realization of the Games”.
It should be noted that the launch ceremony of the Binational Games of Araucanía Los Lagos 2022 will be held this Thursday, August 18, at 8:00 p.m., at the Arena de Puerto Montt.
