Everything ready for the start this Monday, August 1, U-14 World Tennis Championship, a contest in which Colombia will be present with its men’s team, right won by consecrating itself in the last U-14 South American Championship held in Armenia at the beginning of June. The appointment will be held until August 6 in Prostejov (Czech Republic).
The TK Plus Center in Prostejov will bring together the 32 best teams in the world -16 for women and 16 for men-. The coffee team will be made up of the three players who a couple of months ago celebrated in the aforementioned South American U-14 Championship. They are Lucas Velasco (Risaralda), Alexander Castellanos (Casanare) and Edward Jaramillo (Bogotá), the captain will be Johnny Pérez (Risaralda), who last year was removed from the team due to a questionable positive for Covid-19.
Precisely, in 2021 the team made up of Alejandro Arcila, Pablo Robledo and Santiago Ángel, under the captaincy of Miguel Tobón, ranked ninth, being so far the best result of a national team in all history. It is worth noting that Lucas Velasco and Alejandro Castellanos recently played the European tour, thanks to their results in the Cosat South American Tour.
This Sunday the draw will be held and there Colombia will know the way forward on Czech soil, then we review the teams classified for this contest.
