Euro U16: France wins bronze!

The France U16 team won this Saturday evening in Skopje (North Macedonia) the match for third place in the EuroBasket (46-65). Against Greece, the Blueberries accelerated after returning from the locker room.

Faced with a talented team from Greece, the France U16 team managed to win the fourth bronze medal in a youth competition (U17 M and F, U18 F). In Skopje, as against Italy in the quarter-finals of the EuroBasket, they were led from the start of the match (22-15 15′). Nicolas Absalon’s players once again accelerated just before the break.

Thanks to three baskets with the fault, the Bleuets inflict a 13-0 in three minutes (26-21 17′; 26-34 20′). Coming out of the locker room, they perform a magnificent third act to seal the victory. Aggressive in defense, they rely on their strong point since the start of the competition: interceptions and counter-attack (21 points). The gap swells with the long distance bombs of Mohamed Diakité (4/5 in the exercise) to reach twenty points (34-54 30′)

Les Bleuets control in the last act thanks to their quartet Mohamed Diakité (14 points), Noa Essengue (17 points), Nolan Traoré (11 points), Killyan Touré (10 points). A great collective and defensive performance since the Greeks do not cross 50 points.
