ISTANBUL (AA) – Girls’ National Under-18 Team defeated Poland 52-44 in the first match of the European Basketball Championship.
In the championship held on the Greek island of Crete, the national team in Group A faced Poland in their first match.
The crescent-stars, who were ahead 16-8 in the first quarter of the match played in Heraklion University Hall, also dominated the locker room 33-16.
The national team, which did not let go of the control of the game in the second half, won the last quarter with a score of 44-32, 52-44.
Berfin Sertoğlu scored 13 points and Elif İstanbulluoğlu and Deniz Togrut scored 10 points each in the crescent-star team.
