Former NBA star Bill Russel has died at 88

To announce it, through a social press release, his family, who explained that he went away peacefully with his wife Jeannine next to him.

William Felton Russell, better known as Bill was born in Monroe, in LouisianaFebruary 12, 1934. From a very young age he already showed a physical predisposition and an immeasurable talent for the game of basketball. Sport that made him literally immortal in a short time.

Yesterday the legend died out forever, at the age of 88 years old. It was his family who announced his death, leaving the millions of fans around the world who loved him in utter despair.

Role center, Bill Russell entered the NBA legend in no time. He was selected by the Boston Celtics in the 1956 draft and immediately won the championship. The first of a very long series.

In the following 13 years, until 1969, he and his teammates won well 11 titlesof which 8 consecutive, thus marking a record that is still unbeaten today. That of the Celtics was the first real dynasty of American basketball.
