“This summer, we combine the high temperatures with the ban on practicing in forest environments. We find ourselves with a range of activities completely out of step with the initial program. For example, we had planned canoeing sessions on the Ciron but we We had to cancel them.”

Despite the temperatures that are not very suitable for sports practice during the day, and especially in the afternoons, the educators adapt and continue to receive their public.

The activities take place in various shady places in the area: at the orchard park or to hard gym of Langon, at the nautical base and Villandraut stadiumto ramparts of Saint-Macaire or in the municipality of Pian-sur-Garonne.

The advantages of the season

Both on permanent contracts over 35 hours a week, professionals from the South of Gironde welcome Monday to Saturday children accompanied by their families. Teenagers aged 15 and over can come alone to practice the activities.

For Laurent Souques, the summer season is a bubble of air:

“Throughout the year, we mainly have members of the Stade Langonnais Athlétisme. With CAP33, we see a different audience. This allows us to take a break, to be in front of a public on vacation and to create links with other associations in the area. We are a network of sports educators, whether in the Langonnais, the Bazadais, the Cadillacais… We don’t feel like we’re seasonal. We all know each other very well, each with their own specialty. »
