Fourmies: the revival of Deal Connection (photo) and the removal of hairdressers
The Deal Connection store reopened in August on rue Jean-Pierre Dupont. The store took advantage of the summer holidays to treat itself to a “complete facelift”, after 16 years of good and loyal service. It was therefore a very temporary and not permanent closure, as some had indicated on social networks… It should also be noted that the hairdressing salon “l’atelier colored” on rue Cousin Corbier has moved. It is now located in the La Marlière district and has been renamed “L’Atelier du 45”.
As for “Kapricieuse”, the nail salon-solarium on rue Théophile Legrand, it will soon be transferred to n°44 rue Jean-Jaurès, to offer a “ready to wear” area as a bonus. Finally, according to Le Courrier de Fourmies, it is on September 17 that the new hairdressing salon “côté soleil” will be inaugurated, at n°13 rue Édouard Verpraet. This salon was until now located rue Cousin Corbier, in premises that had become too small.
Trélon: another seriously injured following a dive in “blue water”
The accident happened shortly before 6:30 p.m. on Sunday. Wanting to jump more than 10m from the water level, a young man, whose age was not specified, made an uncontrolled slide from the top of one of the cliffs of this old quarry. Transported in serious condition to the Fourmies hospital, fortunately his life would no longer be threatened. Nevertheless, according to our colleagues from the Voix du Nord, the victim would present numerous and significant traumas.
On May 17, a young man aged 22 had already been seriously injured in the back, after he also tried to dive into the blue water. Over the past 20 years, several drownings have unfortunately been to be deplored in this pond, whose swimming and access are however strictly prohibited. Moreover, even today, some injured keep very heavy consequences…
The last fatal drowning dates back to July 26, 2006. Cécile Delattre, a 28-year-old Ant, had fallen from the cliff. His body was fished out the next day… A fatal illness was also to be deplored during the summer of 2018, in circumstances that could never be established…
