Rod Carew Stadium is remodeled for the next World Baseball Classic playoff

The stadium was inaugurated in 1999 and has a capacity of 27,000 fans, but poor maintenance has taken its toll on a structure that can already be considered old.

Since its opening, there are seven occasions in which it has been remodeled, for different events.

Panama will host the competition, which will also be attended by: Argentina Brazil, Nicaragua, New Zealand Pakistan and the Panamanians.

The fair will distribute two tickets to the World Classic to be played in March 2023.

Panama has never attended the World Cup since it had to be eliminated, it fell by the wayside in 2012 and 2016, both times at the ‘Cerro Patacón’ site.
